Title: Hopf bifurcation of spike solutions for the Gierer-Meinhardt and related systems

Abstract: When considering the stability of concentrated solutions of Turing systems such as the Gierer-Meinhardt systems, Hopf bifurcation often occurs. There are plenty of numerical and asymptotical analyses of this type of problems. We try to apply the classical Crandall-Ribinowitz Hopf bifurcation theory to this case. Some existence and stability of Hopf bifurcation results were obtained. The core problems involved are nonlocal eigenvalue problems leading the the existence of the Hopf bifurcation and a nonlocal floquet eigenvalue problem leading to the stability of the Hopf bifurcation.a lecture online.
