The traditional powerful disciplines of pure mathematics in Lanzhou University are nonlinear functional analysis, partial differential equations and algebras. Especially in the theory and application of nonlinear functional analysis, the variable exponent elliptic problem, infinite dimensional dynamical systems, nonlinear elliptic problems, the general theory of partial differential equations, combinatorial semigroups, algebraic theory of semigroups, a series of valuable research achievements has been obtained in Lanzhou University, and these laid the foundation of the mathematical discipline in domestic and foreign academic status, promoted the development of mathematics and related disciplines.
